Jalandhar, February 6, 2026 – In a shocking incident, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was fatally shot outside a gurdwara in Model Town on Friday morning.

Oberoi, who followed a daily routine of visiting the religious site, arrived in his Thar SUV and had just parked when two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire, hitting him with three bullets. The attackers, seemingly aware of his schedule, fled the scene immediately.

Gravely injured, Oberoi was rushed to Fortis Hospital but succumbed to his wounds shortly after.

Rajwinder Thiara, AAP’s Jalandhar Cantt halqa incharge, confirmed the details, stating, “It was Oberoi’s daily routine to visit the gurdwara, and the assailants appeared to be aware of his movements.”

Police have launched an investigation into the motive, with no arrests reported yet. Further updates are awaited as authorities probe this apparent targeted killing.
