Massive Blaze Sweeps Through Delhi’s Nature Bazaar, 40 Shops Gutted
New Delhi / Tarai 24 National Desk, March 15, 2026 — A major fire broke out early Sunday morning at the popular Nature Bazaar in Andheria Modh, South Delhi, reducing nearly 40 shops to ashes.
The incident triggered widespread panic in the area, prompting a massive emergency response from local authorities. Fortunately, despite the scale of the destruction, there have been no reported casualties or injuries.
10 Fire Engines Deployed
According to officials, the Delhi Fire Department received an urgent distress call at approximately 7:37 AM. Recognizing the severity of the blaze and the density of the marketplace, authorities immediately dispatched ten fire engines to the scene.
Firefighters battled the raging flames for several hours before successfully bringing the inferno under control. Manish Kumar Shekhawat, a fire officer present at the scene, confirmed the details of the operation. “The fire had been largely extinguished, though some smoke and residual heat remained, which firefighters are cooling down. There were no casualties or injuries,” Shekhawat stated.
Second Major Fire in Delhi Within 48 Hours
The cause of the fire at Nature Bazaar is yet to be determined, and an investigation is currently underway to assess the total property damage.
This incident marks the second significant fire in the national capital in just two days. Earlier on Friday night, a massive blaze erupted at the old Transport Authority building in the Sheikh Sarai Phase 2 area. That fire gutted the record room, destroying a large number of important, decades-old documents related to licenses. Multiple fire tenders were deployed to extinguish the flames in that incident as well, which also concluded with no reported injuries.
