Kochi, April 1, 2026 – In a swift and coordinated search-and-rescue mission, the Indian Coast Guard successfully rescued a fisherman who had gone missing at sea off the Kerala coast.

The fisherman, who was aboard the Tamil Nadu-registered fishing boat, was reported missing on March 30. The Indian Coast Guard immediately launched a large-scale air-sea search operation.

Coast Guard ships Arnvesh and C-410, along with an ICG aircraft, were deployed and searched vast stretches of the sea for over 36 hours. Today at around 11:45 AM, the fisherman was located, rescued, given first aid, and shifted to a hospital for further medical care.

The Indian Coast Guard described the operation as a “remarkable air-sea coordinated effort” and reiterated its commitment to saving lives at sea.

This successful rescue once again highlights the prompt response and operational excellence of the Indian Coast Guard in ensuring the safety of fishermen in the Indian Ocean Region.
