Siliguri, West Bengal – The 2nd All India Police Handball Cluster Sports Competition 2025-26 is currently underway at the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Frontier Headquarters in Ranidanga, Darjeeling district. The five-day event, which began on January 19 and will run until January 23, has brought together top police teams from across the country.
A total of 80 teams, including men’s and women’s squads from 30 different police organizations and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), are competing in this national-level tournament. The competition is organized by the SSB Siliguri Frontier Headquarters and is being held under the FIT India and Khelo India initiatives, which aim to promote sports and fitness among security personnel.
The event was inaugurated on January 19 with a grand ceremony. It features intense handball matches, with exhibition games planned between combined teams from state police and CAPFs. Officials say the tournament is a major sporting highlight for Siliguri, giving the local community a chance to witness high-level competition.
The event also includes basketball matches as part of the broader cluster. Participants and spectators are encouraged to follow the matches, with the focus on teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
This year’s edition follows the successful first cluster held in Uttar Pradesh last year. Results and highlights from the ongoing matches are being shared by the SSB and participating forces on social media. The tournament concludes on January 23, with winners to be announced then.
