Naxalbari, West Bengal – A road accident involving two e-rickshaws (commonly known as Totos) left a driver and two school students injured this morning on Asian Highway 2 in the School Dangi, Hatighisa area under Naxalbari Block.
The incident occurred when an e-rickshaw carrying school students rammed into another stationary Toto from behind at a traffic signal. According to initial reports, the moving vehicle was traveling at high speed, leading to the collision. Student Sonali Majumdar, who was one of the passengers in the speeding Toto, described the event.
“The Toto we were in was traveling at high speed. The driver lost control and hit the vehicle in front of us,” said Sonali Majumdar to the media.
The Naxalbari Traffic Guard responded swiftly to the scene, providing immediate assistance and transporting the injured—the driver and the two students, including Sonali Majumdar—to Naxalbari Rural Hospital for treatment. Their conditions are reported to be stable, though details on the extent of injuries have not been disclosed.
