Siliguri, West Bengal – The second episode of “Police Idol: North Bengal Chapter,” the unique singing reality show for Bengal Police personnel, was released today on the show’s official YouTube channel, featuring the first 12 contestants in Round 1 and highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
Building on the momentum from the debut episode on January 19, which unveiled the top 30 contestants selected from over 1,000 online auditions across eight districts and units in North Bengal, Episode 2 dives into the competition. Hosted by Ranjini Sengupta, the episode showcases judges Sourav Hom Roy, Barnali Basu, and Chandan Lomjel providing feedback on performances that embodied the theme of Round 1: Cultural Diversity of North Bengal.
The contestants performed in a variety of languages including Hindi, Nepali, Bengali, and Nagpuri, reflecting the linguistic and cultural diversity of the area. This round emphasizes not just vocal talent but also the stories and heritage behind the uniforms, making the show a platform for police officers to express their artistic sides.

- Rohit Tamang (Constable – Narayani Battalion).
- Joy Chhetri (Constable – Siliguri Police Commissionerate).
- Bishal Chettri (ASI – Jalpaiguri District Police).
- Kaushika Mizar (LCVF – Alipurduar District Police).
- Sagar Chettri (Constable – SAP 10th Battalion).

The debut episode, as reported earlier by Tarai 24, featured a star-studded launch with special guest Albert Kabo Lepcha, the Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2023 winner from Kalimpong, who motivated participants. It set the stage for this talent hunt, initiated under Director General Rajiv Kumar, expected to conclude by the end of February 2026.
