Biggest Drug Bust in MP History: CBN Seizes 52 kg Meth, Unearths Secret Indore Factory

Indore/Neemuch, February 19, 2026 — In what is being described as the largest operation of its kind ever carried out by any agency in Madhya Pradesh, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has busted a major synthetic drug manufacturing syndicate, seizing nearly 52 kg of high-quality Methamphetamine (MD) and over 260 kg of precursor chemicals.

The three-day operation culminated in the unearthing of a clandestine drug factory in the Mhow Tehsil of Indore district and the arrest of three individuals under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

The massive bust was triggered by specific intelligence received by the CBN’s Neemuch branch on the night of February 13, 2026. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, officers intercepted a passenger bus in Mandsaur.

During a thorough search of the vehicle, officers zeroed in on two passengers traveling separately but operating together. One passenger was found carrying a suspicious box, while another box was recovered from beneath his accomplice’s seat.

Inside the boxes, authorities discovered 8.172 kg of high-purity crystal Methamphetamine packed into five polythene bags. Both accused confessed to possessing the contraband on the spot.

The arrests on the bus proved to be just the tip of the iceberg. Subsequent investigations led the CBN teams to a full-scale illicit manufacturing facility located in Village Thavalay, under Mhow Tehsil in Indore district.

Raiding the premises, officers discovered a sophisticated lab setup. From the factory floor, the CBN seized a staggering 43.820 kg of high-quality MD/Methamphetamine, along with sophisticated modern equipment used for “cooking” the synthetic drugs. Furthermore, over 260 kg of raw chemicals meant for future production were confiscated.

Bringing the total seizure to 51.992 kg of MD, the operation marks a historic success for law enforcement in the state. The CBN has reiterated its firm resolve to dismantle illicit drug networks and curb the menace of psychotropic substances to achieve a “Drug-Free India.”

The three arrested individuals are currently undergoing further interrogation as authorities work to trace the broader supply chain and financial networks backing this massive operation.
