Patna Horror: 80-Year-Old Man Bludgeoned to Death with Bricks by His Own Son
Patna / Tarai 24 National Desk, March 15, 2026 — A shocking incident of patricide has surfaced from Bihar’s capital, where an 80-year-old man was brutally beaten to death, allegedly by his own son, over a suspected property dispute. The gruesome crime took place in the Malsalami police station area of Patna on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Vijendra, was repeatedly struck with bricks during a violent altercation. Despite being rushed for medical assistance, the elderly man succumbed to his grievous injuries while en route to the hospital.
Arrested Within Six Hours
Acting swiftly on the information, the Patna Police launched an immediate manhunt and successfully apprehended the prime accused—the victim’s son, Ramesh—within just six hours of the fatal attack.
According to preliminary police investigations, the murder was the tragic culmination of an ongoing land and property dispute within the family.
A Background in the Brick Kilns
Authorities revealed that both the father and son were employed as munshis (clerks/supervisors), though they worked at different brick kilns in the region. Furthermore, police records indicate that the accused, Ramesh, already has a prior criminal history, which is now being heavily factored into the ongoing homicide investigation.
The body of the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and law enforcement is currently recording statements from other family members and locals to piece together the exact sequence of events.
