New Delhi, February 11, 2026 – Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held the India-China Strategic Dialogue with China’s Executive Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu in New Delhi on Tuesday, covering a broad spectrum of bilateral, regional, and multilateral issues.
The discussions focused on consolidating recent progress in stabilising bilateral ties and charting the path ahead. Both sides reaffirmed the critical importance of maintaining peace and tranquility along the border areas as a foundation for overall improvement in relations.
They committed to implementing the guidance provided by their leaders, emphasising a political and strategic approach to addressing bilateral trade concerns and other outstanding issues.
Foreign Secretary Misri highlighted the successful resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and expressed hope for its steady expansion. The two sides also agreed to expedite an updated Air Services Agreement and continue practical measures to ease visa processing and boost people-to-people exchanges.
On the multilateral front, the dialogue touched on cooperation during India’s BRICS Chairmanship this year. The Chinese side extended full support for a successful BRICS Summit in India and conveyed that China understands and respects India’s aspirations for permanent membership of the UN Security Council.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to rebuild trust and broaden engagement between the two neighbours following recent high-level interactions.
