Darjeeling Youth Delegation Arrives in New Delhi to Promote National Unity and Cultural Heritage
New Delhi, February 22, 2026 — In a significant cultural and educational initiative, a delegation of 20 youths from the Darjeeling Hills arrived in New Delhi today. The visit is designed to foster a deeper understanding of India’s rich cultural heritage and promote a strong sense of national unity and integrity among the youth of the region.
The prominent 20-member delegation is being led by India’s former Foreign Secretary and current Rajya Sabha MP from Darjeeling, Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
Speaking to Akashvani News Kurseong regarding the initiative, MP Shringla emphasized the core objectives of the tour. He stated that the visit by the Darjeeling youths will actively “foster National Unity and Integrity, sense of Nationalism and understanding of rich Indian Culture and Heritage”.
To provide the youths with a firsthand experience of India’s democratic and historical foundations, a comprehensive itinerary has been planned across the national capital. The delegation is scheduled to visit several iconic institutions and landmarks, including:
Parliament House
Rashtrapati Bhawan
UPSC Bhawan
Piparahwa Buddha Relics
Other key historical monuments across Delhi
Furthermore, the visit will not be limited to sightseeing. The youths are also scheduled to interact with various national leaders and dignitaries, providing them with a unique platform to voice their perspectives and learn about governance and policymaking at the highest level.
