New Delhi / Tarai 24 Auto Desk, March 11, 2026 — Mercedes-Benz has officially opened the order books for its highly anticipated luxury electric sedan, the all-new CLA Electric, ahead of its formal launch in mid-April. Bringing a striking aerodynamic design and segment-leading battery technology to the Indian market, the premium EV aims to directly challenge the likes of the BYD Seal and BMW i4.
Prospective buyers can now reserve the electric sedan online or via authorized dealerships for a token amount of ₹1.5 lakh. As an introductory benefit, customers who pre-book will receive a complimentary 22 kW wall box home charger.
Two Variants: Standard and Long Range
Responding to customer demand for varying price points and driving needs, Mercedes-Benz India is offering the CLA Electric in two distinct configurations:
CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’: Priced tentatively at ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom), this variant features a 58 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed WLTP range of 542 km. It comes equipped with the ‘Progressive Line’ styling package, focusing on comfort and elegant aesthetics.
CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’: Serving as the flagship trim with a tentative price of ₹59 lakh, this model boasts a massive 85.5 kWh battery. It offers an eye-watering claimed range of up to 792 km on a single charge. Finished in the sportier ‘AMG Line’ trim, it features aggressive bumpers and 18-inch AMG alloy wheels.
Performance and Ultra-Fast Charging
Underpinned by the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), the CLA 250+ utilizes a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 268 bhp and 335 Nm of torque, propelling the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds.
One of the standout features of the Long Range variant is its advanced 800-volt electrical architecture. When plugged into a 240 kW DC fast charger, the CLA 250+ can add approximately 400 km of driving range in a mere 20 minutes, drastically reducing downtime during long highway trips.
AI-Powered Cabin and Deliveries
Inside, the CLA Electric features a futuristic dual-screen layout comprising a 14-inch central infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Taking cabin technology a step further, the vehicle incorporates the new MBUX Virtual Assistant, which natively integrates Google Gemini and ChatGPT for advanced conversational voice controls.
Deliveries for the top-tier CLA 250+ Long Range will commence by the end of April 2026, while the CLA 200 Standard Range will start reaching customers in June 2026.
