Zero Casualties as Massive Fire Engulfs Four Home Appliance Factories

Sonipat, April 3, 2026 — A massive fire ripped through the Kundli Industrial Area in Haryana’s Sonipat district during the early hours of Friday morning, completely gutting four separate manufacturing units and a vehicle. Despite the massive scale of the inferno and millions of rupees in property damage, authorities have confirmed a major relief: no casualties or injuries have been reported.

The Midnight Blaze Near NIFTEM

The harrowing incident began late Thursday night. According to officials, the local fire sub-station in Kundli received an emergency call at approximately 2:30 AM, reporting massive flames erupting from industrial units located near the NIFTEM campus.

The fire initially broke out in Plot C-56. However, fueled by strong night winds and the highly combustible nature of the materials inside, the blaze rapidly spread, engulfing three adjoining factories before emergency services could secure the perimeter. A car parked inside the compound of factory number 56 was also completely reduced to ashes.

“Four units were engulfed in the flames and it took many hours for the fire tenders to bring it under control,” confirmed Inspector Sethi Malik, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Kundli Police Station.

What Was Destroyed?

The intense blaze targeted a specific manufacturing sector. All four of the affected factories were engaged in the production of home electrical appliances, primarily manufacturing fans, air coolers, and juicer mixers.

According to preliminary reports, three of the gutted plots—identified as C-56, C-57, and C-62—were owned and operated by a single individual, while the fourth neighboring factory belonged to a different owner. The massive stock of plastic, wiring, and packaging materials inside the units severely accelerated the rapid spread of the fire.

14 Fire Tenders Battle the Flames

Due to the ferocity of the blaze, local firefighting units were quickly overwhelmed, forcing authorities to call in heavy reinforcements from neighboring fire stations across different districts. A total of 14 fire tenders were deployed to the site, with firefighters battling for several hours into Friday morning to finally bring the massive inferno under control.

While the exact cause of the fire is still under formal investigation, Inspector Malik stated that an electrical short circuit is currently suspected to be the initial trigger. As cooling operations continue at the site today, local business owners are now left assessing the massive financial damages left in the wake of the flames.
