Return to Phulera: TVF’s Panchayat Season 5 Finally Goes on Floors
Mumbai, April 3, 2026 — Pack your bags for Phulera once again! The cameras have officially started rolling for the highly anticipated fifth season of the beloved comedy-drama series Panchayat. Prime Video set the internet buzzing on Friday by dropping exclusive behind-the-scenes (BTS) pictures to announce the commencement of filming.
“6 Years in Phulera”
Taking to Instagram to share the exciting news, the streaming giant posted a series of fresh glimpses from the set, captioning the post: “6 years of being in Phulera and never wanting to leave #PanchayatOnPrime, New Season, Now Filming.” Since its breakout debut in 2020, the heart-warming show has steadily grown into one of India’s most cherished digital series, consistently winning over audiences with its authentic portrayal of rural Indian life and endearing characters.
What to Expect in Season 5
The upcoming season promises to raise the stakes for everyone’s favorite Panchayat Secretary, Abhishek Tripathi. While the core charm of Phulera remains intact, the makers have teased a much more turbulent journey ahead.
According to the show’s creators, Season 5 will see Abhishek grappling with an increasingly hostile work environment under a “new and vengeful leadership.” As he desperately tries to focus on his long-standing dream of cracking the CAT exam and pursuing his MBA, he will be forced to first resolve some serious “unfinished matters” in the village before he can finally move on.
The Team Behind the Magic
Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), Panchayat continues to be steered by its successful core creative team. The new season is once again directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and penned by Chandan Kumar.
Fans can rejoice as the entire primary cast is set to reprise their iconic roles. Jitendra Kumar returns as the exasperated but dedicated Abhishek, alongside veterans Neena Gupta (Manju Devi) and Raghubir Yadav (Pradhan Ji). The ensemble cast, including Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Saanvika, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, and Sunita Rajwar, will also be returning to bring the quirky, everyday drama of Phulera back to the screen.
As filming kicks into high gear, fans are already eagerly awaiting an official release date for the next chapter of the Phulera saga.
