Caught on Camera: Gym Owner Attacked with Sword Over Parking Dispute in Indore
Indore, April 7, 2026 — What began as a minor disagreement over car parking in Indore rapidly escalated into a terrifying, blood-curdling incident when a local gym owner was brutally attacked with a sword. The attacker has been identified as the cousin of a local BJP leader.
A horrifying video of the violent physical altercation has since gone viral on social media, sending shockwaves across the city and raising serious questions about law and order in the area.
A Barehanded Defense
The victim, a local gym operator named Ashu Vyas, recounted the terrifying ordeal to journalists. According to Vyas, the argument over the parking space heated up quickly, leading the accused to brandish a heavy sword.
In a desperate bid to survive the deadly strike, Vyas grabbed the sharp blade of the sword with his bare hands. “It was a very scary moment. I stopped the sword with my hands to defend myself, which saved my life, though I sustained injuries in the process,” Vyas stated. His quick reflexes managed to avert a fatal blow, though the incident caused massive panic and chaos in the immediate vicinity.
Viral Video and Police Response
The violent clash was recorded by bystanders, and the footage quickly spread across local WhatsApp groups and social media platforms.
Taking cognizance of the viral video, Aerodrome Police Station In-charge Tarunendra Bhati stated that the open use of such a dangerous weapon in a residential area is a highly serious matter. The police immediately deployed units to bring the situation under control and prevent any further escalation. Bhati issued a stern warning that the administration will not tolerate the public brandishing of illegal weapons and that strict action would be taken against offenders.
Political Pressure and a “Compromise”
Despite the severity of the attack and the presence of video evidence, a shocking twist emerged later in the evening. According to the Aerodrome police, no formal First Information Report (FIR) has been registered by the victim.
Reports indicate that several influential local politicians and community leaders intervened on behalf of the accused. Heavy political pressure was allegedly applied at the police station late at night, resulting in the two parties reaching a “mutual compromise” rather than pursuing legal action.
However, local residents have heavily criticized this backdoor settlement, stating that a major tragedy was only narrowly avoided. Despite the lack of a formal written complaint, Police Station In-charge Bhati confirmed that the police are continuing their internal investigation into the incident to ensure peace and public order are maintained in the neighborhood.
