Jabalpur, April 9, 2026 — What was supposed to be a joyous trip to a wedding turned into an unspeakable tragedy late Tuesday night. Three young men from Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district tragically lost their lives after their motorcycle rammed violently into a stationary truck parked on the side of the road in Jabalpur’s Bargi area.
A Fatal Midnight Journey
The horrific incident took place around 11:45 PM near the Gajana drain (Nala) under the jurisdiction of the Bargi Police Station.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suryakant Sharma, the three youths were riding on a single motorcycle (registration number MP 22 ZE 7877), traveling from Seoni toward Jabalpur to attend a wedding procession in the village of Jamunia.
Due to the pitch darkness of the night, the driver of the motorcycle was unable to spot a heavy truck (registration number CG 08 AW 8197) that had been parked dangerously on the edge of the road. The bike crashed head-on into the rear of the stationary vehicle at a high speed.
Three Lives Lost
The impact of the collision was incredibly severe, completely destroying the motorcycle and leaving all three riders with critical, fatal injuries.
Local residents and passersby who witnessed the immediate aftermath quickly alerted the police. Emergency response teams rushed the severely injured victims to the local Medical College Hospital for treatment. However, despite their efforts, doctors declared all three young men dead upon arrival following a preliminary examination.
The deceased have been identified as:
Surendra Pandre (23), a resident of Dhuma, Seoni.
Govind Parte (21), a resident of Sukkam village.
Ajay Kumar Uikey (22), a resident of Garghatia village.
Police Launch Manhunt for Truck Driver
Following the horrific crash, the local police conducted a formal Panchnama (inquest) and sent the bodies of the three youths for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities have seized the stationary truck involved in the accident. A formal case has been registered against the errant truck driver, who had parked the vehicle without proper warning signs or hazard lights in the dark. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the absconding driver, and further investigation into the accident is currently underway.
