Wife Masterminds 55-Year-Old Farmer’s Murder in Ludhiana Over Property Dispute
Ludhiana, March 25, 2026 — The Ludhiana rural police have cracked the murder case of a 55-year-old farmer from Jandi village, uncovering a chilling domestic conspiracy. The victim, Harjinder Singh, was found brutally stabbed to death at his residence on March 17. Authorities have now arrested his second wife, Taranjit Kaur, identifying her as the primary mastermind behind the gruesome killing.
A Deadly Plot for Property
According to police officials, the murder was deeply rooted in an ongoing property dispute. Due to these domestic tensions, Taranjit Kaur and her son, Jaskarn Singh, had already been living separately from Harjinder.
Driven by the desire to seize Harjinder’s assets, Taranjit allegedly conspired with her son to eliminate the 55-year-old farmer. To execute the sinister plot, Jaskarn enlisted the help of two accomplices, identified as Gurpreet Singh and Dharminder Singh. In the wee hours of March 17, the trio sneaked into the house and mercilessly stabbed Harjinder to death while he was sleeping.
The Calculated Cover-Up
Sub-inspector Hemraj Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) at the Sidhwan Bet Police Station, shed light on the highly calculated nature of the crime.
To create an alibi and avoid suspicion, Taranjit and Jaskarn had intentionally left their home about ten days prior to the murder, relocating to a relative’s house in Barnala. In a shocking display of deception, following the execution of the murder, the mother and son returned to the village to “mourn” Harjinder’s death alongside other grieving family members.
Discovery and Arrests
The horrific crime only came to light when concerned neighbors, noticing an unusual lack of movement at Harjinder’s residence, alerted his brother. Upon entering the premises, the brother discovered Harjinder’s blood-soaked body and immediately informed the authorities.
Following a swift investigation, police apprehended Jaskarn. During intense interrogation, he broke down and confessed to the crime, formally exposing his mother’s role as the chief conspirator. The police have successfully arrested Taranjit Kaur, Jaskarn Singh, and the hired aides as the legal proceedings move forward.
