Gurugram, April 9, 2026 — In a major breakthrough for law enforcement agencies, one of Haryana’s most wanted criminals, gangster Indrajit Singh Yadav, has been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Following a red corner notice, Interpol successfully apprehended Yadav in Abu Dhabi, and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) has officially initiated the process to extradite him back to India.
Yadav, who has been linked to a string of high-profile crimes across Gurugram, the National Capital Region (NCR), and Haryana, had been on the run since early last year.
Fleeing India and High-Profile Crimes
According to senior STF officials, Indrajit Singh Yadav covertly fled India on his passport in January 2025, narrowly escaping an Income Tax raid. While Haryana Police suspected his involvement with organized crime syndicates at the time, concrete evidence of his illicit operations surfaced only after his escape.
His criminal network was fully exposed when an audio recording of a conversation between Yadav and the notorious Himanshu Bhau gang went viral on social media. Working from overseas, Yadav began taking public responsibility for several brazen attacks that rocked Gurugram between July and September of last year.
Among the high-profile crimes linked directly to his name are the firing incident on Haryanvi singer Fazilpuria’s vehicle, the brutal murder of Fazilpuria’s friend and financier Rohit Shokeen, and the shocking gunfire attack at the residence of popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav.
The Crackdown
The turning point in the international manhunt came following the arrest of another gangster, Sunil Sardhana. Sardhana, who had previously claimed responsibility for the Gurugram shootings, was caught by US agencies last year while attempting to enter the United States via the illegal ‘donkey route’. Following his extradition to India, Sardhana’s interrogations revealed crucial intelligence regarding Yadav’s whereabouts and operations in the Middle East.
Armed with this information, the Haryana STF secured a Lookout Circular (LOC) and an Interpol notice, which ultimately led to Yadav’s capture in Abu Dhabi a few days ago. The STF is currently coordinating with the Ministry of Home Affairs to expedite his extradition.
₹90 Crore Assets Attached by ED
Yadav’s arrest comes shortly after a massive financial crackdown on his empire. In the last week of February, the Gurugram Zonal Office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) provisionally attached immovable properties worth ₹90.04 crore belonging to him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Investigations revealed that Yadav, who poses as the owner of Gem Record Entertainment Pvt Ltd, amassed significant wealth through a vast criminal enterprise spanning Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. His syndicate was heavily involved in extortion, land grabbing, fraud, targeted killings, and the forceful recovery of loans for private financiers.
Despite multiple summons and notices, Yadav continually evaded the legal process by hiding in Dubai. With his arrest now confirmed, authorities are preparing to interrogate him extensively regarding his sprawling criminal network and financial assets once he touches down on Indian soil.
