Knifed to Death in J-Block Market: Delhi Police Apprehends Four Minors for Teen's Murder
New Delhi, April 23, 2026 — In a shocking incident of juvenile crime, a 17-year-old boy was brutally stabbed to death by four minors following an altercation in Delhi’s Mahendra Park area. The accused also attempted to attack the victim’s older brother when he tried to intervene and save him.
The Delhi Police have apprehended all four juvenile suspects involved in the murder and recovered two knives used in the fatal attack.
The Fatal Scuffle
The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Daksh, a resident of I-Block in Jahangirpuri. According to North-West District Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Akanksha Yadav, the incident took place on the night of April 20.
Daksh’s older brother, 20-year-old Rohit Raj, who works as an interior decorator, told the police that Daksh had gone to the local C-Block market with his friend Gulshan. Shortly after, Gulshan informed Rohit that a heated argument had broken out between Daksh and a group of boys in the nearby J-Block market.
Alarmed, Rohit immediately rushed to the location. Upon arriving, he witnessed two of the boys actively attacking his younger brother with knives.
Brother Narrowly Escapes
Seeing Daksh bleeding, Rohit stepped in to rescue him. However, the aggressive assailants turned their weapons on him and attempted to stab him as well. Rohit managed to dodge the attack. As a crowd began to gather and raise an alarm, the four minors fled the scene.
Rohit rushed a severely injured Daksh to the nearby Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared the 17-year-old dead on arrival due to the grievous stab wounds.
Police Action and Investigation
The police were alerted to the stabbing at the J-Block market later that night. Upon arriving at the hospital, they took custody of Daksh’s body and sent it for a postmortem examination.
Authorities immediately registered a case of murder and launched a hunt for the suspects. It was discovered that all four accused minors are residents of the Jahangirpuri area. The preliminary investigation suggests that the brutal attack was the result of a pre-existing mutual enmity between the groups.
The apprehended minors are currently being processed as per the Juvenile Justice Act, while further investigations remain underway to piece together the exact sequence of events that led to the tragic loss of a young life.
