Ranchi – In a major move for the regional film industry, the acclaimed Nagpuri feature film “Khota Sikka: Fun Unlimited” made its digital premiere on YouTube today. The film, which first hit the silver screen with a theatrical release on July 19, 2024, is now accessible to a global audience, marking a new chapter for Nagpuri-language cinema in the digital age.
Directed by the duo of Anmol Xalxo and David Sam, the film is produced by Vibhash Xalxo and Anjali Rupam Kujur under the banner of Anvi Film Production. The screenplay and story, penned by Ranju Minz, blend situational comedy with the vibrant cultural nuances of the Chotanagpur plateau and the surrounding Tarai regions. The technical team includes Cinematographer Ravi Sahu and Editor Ajesh Mishra, who have worked to bring a polished, cinematic feel to the regional production.
The film’s soundtrack, which has already achieved viral status on social media and regional radio, is a major highlight of the production. The musical score and songs were composed by a talented team consisting of Vivek Nayak, Aniket Verma, and Rishi Verma. The music has been praised for its ability to blend traditional Nagpuri rhythms with contemporary arrangements, making it a staple at local festivals and social gatherings.
The film brings together some of the most recognizable faces in Nagpuri entertainment, led by Vivek Nayak in the role of Michel and Ranju Minz as the character CFL. They are joined by Raju Tirkey, who portrays Bishram Mahali, and the popular Nitesh Kachhap, who features as Dr. Hasmukh. The female leads are anchored by Arpita Das as Khushi and Ankita Bhengra as Kajal. This talented ensemble is further supported by a cast of veteran artists from the Nagpuri music video circuit, ensuring a performance that resonates deeply with the core audience across Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and the tea garden belts of North Bengal.
The decision to release the full movie on YouTube today—nearly 18 months after its initial theatrical run—reflects a strategic shift in how regional content is consumed. Producers are increasingly turning to digital platforms to bypass the limited screen count for regional languages and to reach the massive diaspora of Nagpuri and Sadri speakers living in metropolitan cities and overseas. Industry experts believe that this digital release will not only help in the preservation of the film but also provide a steady stream of revenue through international viewership, which was previously untapped during the 2024 theatrical window.
The full movie is now available for free streaming on the Anvi Film Production YouTube channel. As regional cinema continues to embrace the digital frontier, Khota Sikka stands as a testament to the growing influence and reach of Nagpuri storytelling.
