Missing Schoolgirl Found in Semi-Conscious State, 2 Arrested for Gang-Rape
Maihar (Madhya Pradesh), April 18, 2026 — A deeply shocking and shameful incident has come to light from the Maihar district of Madhya Pradesh, where an 8th-grade schoolgirl was abducted, held hostage, and subjected to a brutal gang-rape.
The local police have swiftly cracked down on the case, successfully rescuing the minor and arresting the two primary accused involved in the heinous crime.
Abducted on the Way Home
According to the details provided by the authorities, the disturbing incident took place in the Jukhehi area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Amdara Police Station.
On Friday, the minor victim had gone to her school in Jukhehi as per her daily routine. However, while she was returning home after classes, she was intercepted and forcibly abducted by two local youths.
The accused dragged the young girl to an isolated room in a nearby settlement, where she was kept tied up and held hostage. Over the course of the captivity, the two men repeatedly gang-raped the terrified minor.
Rescue and Police Action
When the young girl failed to return home from school, her panicked family launched a frantic search. Unable to locate her, they rushed to the local police outpost and officially registered a missing person report.
Recognizing the gravity of a missing minor case, the police immediately registered an FIR and launched a massive search operation across the locality. On Saturday, their efforts led them to a locked room in the settlement.
Upon breaking in, the police found the 8th-grade student in a highly distressed and semi-conscious state. She was immediately rescued and provided with necessary medical and psychological assistance.
Following her rescue and initial statement, the police tracked down the two accused youths and took them into custody. Authorities confirmed that after a thorough interrogation, both men were formally arrested and presented before the court, which has subsequently remanded them to judicial custody in jail. Further investigations are currently underway to ensure the strictest possible punishment for the perpetrators.
