Dhanbad Murder Mystery Solved: Wife’s Lovers Kill Husband in Shocking ‘Love Triangle’ Plot

Dhanbad (Jharkhand), April 17, 2026 — In a dramatic and deadly tale of betrayal, illicit affairs, and a preemptive strike, a man from Dhanbad was brutally murdered by his wife’s two alleged lovers.

The victim, identified as 36-year-old Md. Shamim Ansari, alias Guddu Seth, was shot dead in the Jorapokhar police station area of Jharia. Solving the high-profile case within 48 hours, the Dhanbad police have arrested two main suspects along with three minors.

A Deadly Preemptive Strike

The investigation revealed a tangled web of illicit relationships that ultimately led to the murder. According to the police, Guddu Seth’s wife had been involved in an active romantic relationship with one of the accused, Shubham Singh (a resident of Giridih), for the past two years. Furthermore, Guddu’s own staff member, identified as Siddhu, was also allegedly involved with her, frequently talking to her over the phone.

The situation reached a boiling point when Guddu discovered his wife’s illicit affairs. Enraged by the betrayal, Guddu reportedly began plotting to eliminate both his rivals. Police sources state that on April 10, Guddu was actively searching for contract killers to murder Shubham and Siddhu.

However, Guddu’s deadly plan backfired spectacularly when Shubham caught wind of the assassination plot. Realizing their lives were in immediate danger, Shubham and Siddhu decided to strike first.

The Murder at the Coal Dump

On the night of April 12, under the pretext of an urgent meeting, Siddhu lured his boss, Guddu, to a deserted OB Dump (a designated coal mine dumping area).

Shubham was already lying in wait at the isolated location. Together, Siddhu and Shubham ambushed Guddu and shot him at point-blank range, killing him instantly on the spot.

Arrests and Ongoing Probe

Following the discovery of the body, a special investigative team led by City SP Ritwik Srivastava launched a massive manhunt. Acting on technical intelligence, the police cracked the case in just 48 hours.

The two main accused, Shubham and Siddhu, were arrested. Based on their confessions, the police successfully recovered the murder weapon—a 7.65 mm country-made pistol. Authorities also seized a damaged Apple mobile phone and the motorcycle used to flee the crime scene.

While the police have arrested the two men who executed the murder, the role of Guddu’s wife remains under intense scrutiny. Although her direct involvement in planning the assassination has not yet been proven, investigators are keeping a close watch on her as the probe continues into this tragic love triangle.
