Unable to Care for Her, Man Carries Bedridden Mother to 4th Floor and Throws Her to Death

Bengaluru, April 15, 2026 — In a chilling incident that has shocked the city, a 42-year-old man was arrested in Bengaluru on Wednesday for allegedly murdering his bedridden, 75-year-old mother by throwing her from the fourth floor of their residential building.

The horrifying crime took place in the afternoon at a rented property located in the 3rd Stage of BEML Layout in RR Nagar. The accused, identified as Venkatesh C, alias Dasharath, reportedly committed the drastic act out of severe frustration over his inability to continue providing medical care and support for his paralyzed mother.

The Incident: A Fatal Drop

According to the police, Venkatesh lived on the first floor of a three-story rented building. At approximately 3:00 PM on Wednesday, while his wife was away at work, Venkatesh lifted his paralyzed mother, Savitramma C, and physically carried her in his arms up to the fourth-floor terrace.

From there, he mercilessly hurled her to the ground. The 75-year-old woman sustained massive trauma and died on the spot.

The brutal incident came to light when the owner of the building, E. Vikram, who resides on the ground floor, heard a loud thud from the back of the property. Following the murder, Venkatesh reportedly walked back down to his first-floor apartment and locked himself inside.

Confession: Caregiver Burnout and Financial Despair

Following his arrest, Venkatesh confessed to the horrific crime, citing extreme emotional and financial distress.

Police revealed that Savitramma’s husband had passed away approximately ten years ago, leaving Venkatesh as her primary caregiver. Around five years ago, she suffered a severe stroke that left her completely paralyzed and bedridden.

During his interrogation, Venkatesh told investigators that he had initially left his job to care for her round-the-clock. “There were no signs of her recovering. Each day, life became miserable for me,” Venkatesh reportedly confessed to the police, explaining that he could no longer handle the physical toll and the mounting financial burden of her medical treatment.

Currently, Venkatesh works as an assistant in a showroom, while his wife is employed as a helper at a local clinic.

Police Action

Based on a formal complaint lodged by the building owner, Vikram, the RR Nagar police moved swiftly to apprehend the accused.

Authorities have officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) and booked Venkatesh for murder under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police are currently conducting further inquiries with neighbours and family members to piece together the exact circumstances that led up to the tragic event.
