Jaipur, February 17, 2026 — In a significant push towards digital agriculture, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, is set to launch a new AI-based platform named “Bharat-VISTAAR” for farmers across the country today in Jaipur.

Designed as a “digital companion,” the platform aims to technologically empower the farming community by providing a comprehensive suite of services under one roof.

One-Stop Solution for Farmers

Bharat-VISTAAR leverages Artificial Intelligence to provide real-time, critical information to farmers. Key features of the platform include:

  • Weather Updates & Mandi Prices: Timely alerts to help farmers plan harvest and sales.

  • Crop & Soil Health: Advisory services on pest and disease management, as well as soil health monitoring.

  • Government Schemes: Direct access to information regarding various central and state welfare programs.

In Phase 1, farmers will be able to access these services through phone calls and a chatbot. A dedicated mobile application is scheduled for release in the subsequent phase. Initially, the platform will be available in Hindi and English, targeting lakhs of farmers in states such as Maharashtra, Bihar, and Gujarat.

A Roadmap for Future Agriculture

The launch event in Jaipur will be attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary.

Beyond the platform launch, Mr. Chouhan and CM Sharma will also unveil the “AI for Agriculture Roadmap,” a strategic document outlining the future integration of technology in Indian farming. Announcements regarding an “AI Hackathon” and the launch of “Agrikosh” are also expected during the ceremony.

Agriculture Ministers from various states and farmers from across the country will join the event virtually through the network of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and agricultural universities.
