Siliguri, West Bengal – Siliguri Police have successfully recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments along with other items after arresting two suspects in a theft case reported earlier this month.

The incident occurred on January 7, 2026, when a theft was reported at Khalpara TOP-II under Siliguri Police Station. Gold and silver ornaments, along with household items, were stolen from a house in Adarshanagar Colony.

Acting on a secret tip-off, police arrested Pankaj Paswan (31), a resident of Ward No. 1, Siliguri, and Karan Barman (21), from Ward No. 4, Siliguri, on January 16, 2026.

During police remand, the accused led officers to the recovery of the stolen gold and silver ornaments, as well as a mobile phone. The items were returned to the rightful owner after verification.

A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing to determine if the suspects are linked to any larger theft network. Siliguri Police have praised the quick action based on public information, urging residents to report suspicious activities promptly.
