Siliguri, West Bengal – In a swift operation, the Khalpara Traffic Outpost-II (TOP-II) team under Siliguri Metropolitan Police has recovered three stolen motorcycles and arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with recent vehicle thefts in the city. The breakthrough highlights ongoing efforts to curb rising bike thefts in urban areas.
The case began on January 4, 2026, when a complaint was filed at Siliguri Police Station regarding the theft of two motorcycles from Agrasen Road in the Khalpara area. Acting on confidential tip-offs, the Khalpara TOP-II police team apprehended Rajjak Islam, a resident of Surya Sen Colony, on suspicion of involvement in the crime.
During interrogation, Islam provided information that led to the recovery of not only the two reported motorcycles but also a third stolen bike from his possession. A total of three motorcycles were seized, demonstrating the effectiveness of the probe.
The investigation is ongoing, with police exploring potential links to a larger theft ring in the region. Authorities urge residents to report suspicious activities and secure their vehicles to prevent such incidents.
This recovery adds to Siliguri Police’s recent successes in tackling urban crime, boosting community confidence amid the winter season.
