Siliguri, West Bengal – Umang Dewan, a young social worker and son of Uday Dewan, an employee at the Bangla Sahayata Kendra in Naxalbari Gram Panchayat, died in a tragic road accident last night.
The incident occurred around 11 PM on January 26 at Kadopani, Bagdogra, near his residence in Bhuttabari. Umang was riding his scooty home when the accident happened.
Patrolling police found him lying injured with blood at the scene. They immediately called an ambulance and rushed him to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, where he was declared dead.
