Malda / Kolkata – In a significant victory against narcotics trafficking, Malda District Police have arrested Md. Enarul Hoque, alias Enarul Sheikh, identified as the top drug kingpin operating in Kaliachak, along with his close aide Md. Saukat Sk, alias Bhaglu.

The arrests were made in Kolkata’s Entally area, following an intensive anti-narcotics operation. Both individuals were wanted in connection with the seizure of 39.272 kg of brown sugar, charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

According to police details, Enarul Hoque was the primary supplier of raw narcotics sourced from Manipur and Assam, where he had maintained operations for years. He ran an extensive network that distributed drugs to illegal factories in areas including Mozompur, Narayanpur, Srirampur, Sahabajpur, and surrounding regions.

To safeguard his illicit business, Hoque had assembled an armed gang implicated in multiple violent incidents. Previous raids by the police had resulted in the recovery of six firearms and 30 rounds of ammunition from the group.

This arrest is expected to deliver a substantial blow to the drug supply chain in Kaliachak and adjacent areas, potentially dismantling the entire operation. Malda District Police emphasized their ongoing commitment to creating a safe, drug-free environment, maintaining zero tolerance for narcotics and organized crime.
