NEW DELHI: A swift and coordinated rescue operation by the Delhi Fire Service averted a major tragedy on Tuesday evening after a fierce fire broke out in a four-story residential building in South East Delhi’s upscale New Friends Colony. Authorities have confirmed that all 10 people trapped inside the building were safely evacuated without any injuries.

The incident was reported to the authorities at exactly 5:14 PM, prompting an immediate response. According to Delhi Fire Service officials, the blaze quickly engulfed parts of the multi-story home, trapping a family of ten on the upper floors as thick smoke and flames blocked their primary exit routes.

Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot to battle the flames. Firefighters worked tirelessly and managed to bring the raging fire under control, preventing it from spreading to adjacent properties in the densely populated neighborhood.

Simultaneously, a rescue operation was launched to save the trapped occupants. Firefighters successfully rescued all 10 family members, which included six men, three women, and one child. A spokesperson for the Delhi Fire Service confirmed, “The fire was brought under control in a timely manner, and we are relieved to report that all 10 individuals rescued are completely safe.”

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation is currently underway to ascertain how the blaze started. Meanwhile, local authorities have cordoned off the affected building to assess the structural damage caused by the fire.

The prompt action of the fire department is being widely praised by locals, as their quick intervention turned a potentially fatal disaster into a successful rescue mission.
