Haryana: 24-Year-Old Bedridden After Doctors Remove Wrong Organ
Nuh (Haryana), April 22, 2026 — In a horrifying case of medical negligence and subsequent cover-up, the administration and at least two doctors of a private hospital in Tauru, Nuh, have been booked by the police. The medical team allegedly removed the healthy gall bladder of a 24-year-old patient who had been admitted for the treatment of a urinary tract stone.
The shocking medical blunder, which occurred late last year, has left the young victim—a painter by profession—bedridden and suffering from severe complications for the past seven months.
Health Panel Exposes Fraud and Negligence
The police action on Monday follows a damning inquiry report by the Haryana health department. A specialized medical negligence board investigated the patient’s records and made two startling discoveries.
First, the board confirmed that the patient’s gall bladder was perfectly normal and required no surgical intervention. Second, the investigating health officials found that the hospital administration deliberately tampered with the patient’s medical records to make it look like the family had consented to two separate procedures, including the cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal).
“The internal patient file document… established that the attendants had only consented for stone surgery,” stated a senior health department official. The board conclusively ruled that there was gross negligence on the part of the surgical team and the hospital.
A Father’s Vigilance Caught the Cover-Up
The tragic ordeal began on September 10, when the young man was rushed to the Tauru hospital experiencing severe abdominal pain. According to the victim’s father, the surgical team’s behavior post-operation raised immediate red flags.
The doctors allegedly rushed the patient out of the operation theater within just 25 minutes and appeared evasive when questioned about the procedure. Sensing something was terribly wrong, the vigilant father immediately alerted the local police and recorded video evidence of the hospital’s internal patient file before the staff could fully alter the documents.
A subsequent independent ultrasound tragically confirmed the family’s worst fears: the patient’s gall bladder was gone.
Police File FIR, Arrests to Follow
Acting on the health department board’s final recommendation, the City Tauru police station has formally registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the involved doctors and hospital management.
Nuh police spokesperson Krishan Kumar confirmed the development on Wednesday, noting that the accused have been booked under several strict sections of the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges of criminal conspiracy and medical negligence. Authorities have indicated that arrests in the case will follow shortly as the investigation progresses.
